Easter, like most holidays,
can mean a lot of different things to a lot of people. When I was a child, Easter meant hunting for plastic,
pastel-coloured eggs filled with chocolate treats. Over the years, nothing much has changed. I may not be
crawling around backyards in search of chocolate-ly goodness these days, but I certainly still love to
indulge in copious amounts of chocolate.
This Easter weekend, do something a little bit different and go see the Choco-Musée
Érico in Quebec. The way I see it, you can either: go to your local supermarket, buy bags of
chocolates and peeps, scatter them around your home and let the kids run amok.
Or, you could pack up your weekend bags, stay at a beautiful hotel, and enjoy some stress-free time with the
family.
At the Choco Musée, you can learn about the history of chocolate and look at more than 200 objects
originating from places like Mexico and Europe. There is also plenty of art made of chocolate to see. You
could also just marvel at the window that overlooks the kitchen, where delicious chocolate is made!
Once you’ve seen all the sights, follow your nose — and your taste buds — and have a treat as an ode to the
Easter bunny. Choose one — or many — of the more than 60 kinds of chocolates and truffles from the chocolate menu (PDF document). There’s even a
cappuccino-flavoured chocolate shaped like a cup of cappuccino.
