It was April Fool’s Day, but these tricks were
serious.
Harlem Globetrotters Moo Moo Evans and Blenda Rodriguez were in the CN Tower’s Skypod, 447 metres in the air,
performing mesmerizing trick shots on a specially constructed hoop. As much air as they get in their games,
it’s the highest altitude they had been at since their inception in 1926.
Evans and Rodriguez then went on to dazzle onlookers with their ball handling tricks on the CN Tower’s
notorious Glass Floor, 342 metres up.

This was all to kick off “Globetrotters Month” in Canada. It’s part of the Globetrotters’ “Magical Memories”
World Tour, which has so far brought 10 of 13 games to amazed audiences of all ages.
“The Harlem Globetrotters are the epitome of world-class family fun,” said Michael Kenney, the Globetrotters’
senior vice president, live event marketing.
Performances involve stunning tricks, comedy, a bit of slapstick, choreography and a whole lot of
athleticism. Audience members in Barrie thought the Globetrotters’ performance was “spectacular.”
The Globetrotters are a world-famous brand, appearing on everything from The Simpsons to Gordon
Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen. They have played in 120 countries and territories over six
continents. They’re only one of six teams to have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of
Fame. Needless to say, they’re definitely worth checking out.
The team completed their Ontario tour on Saturday, finishing with two shows at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre.
They also visited Montreal’s Bell Centre on April 2.
B.C. shows start next week and tickets can be purchased at harlemglobetrotters.com.
