In the
words of Coco Chanel, “Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.” And Daisy Darche’s new
collection is just that.
The flowing, loose-fitted pieces are chic, comfortable and easy to wear, and are
targeted towards women who choose personal style and design over trends. Whether you’re going for an
ultra-femme look or putting together a versatile outfit for work, the collection is a must-see. Floor-length
silk gowns, tunics, shawls, above-the-knee dresses, and layering jackets make up some of the garments.
The spring/summer 2012 collection is designer Alex d’Arche’s sixth season under the Daisy Darche label. She
has taken the idea of timelessness and used bold patterns within every piece, which paired with the use of
silk, results in a truly luxurious collection.
Taking inspiration from nature, urban cities, photography and floral designs, Daisy Darche’s signature look
and use of colour is carried on into 2012.
"I was
recently in Denmark where I had the pleasure of visiting Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen. The view was
incredible and breath-taking; I wanted to capture the atmosphere in my collection," says Alex d'Arche.
"I imagined a fun,
yet elegant and sophisticated collection. Using textures from my
surroundings, mixing blacks and greys with zesty greens and electric
pinks, I think I've created this mood.”
The label
remains true to its “Made in England” mantra by using materials from the U.K., with d’Arche’s father who has
printed the designs.
