Visits to the high streets in England
show the extent of Topshop’s influential fashion reach. With British supermodel Kate Moss counted as part of
Topshop’s fashion collaborations, it’s no surprise that ladies and gents are clad from head-to-toe in
Topshop and Topman garb.
From its humble beginnings
in the basement of the Peter Robinson department store in 1964 to becoming a top-notch retailer with
approximately 400 stores internationally to-date, Topshop continues to cement its reputation as an
undisputed source of fashion authority.
Topshop’s Autumn/Winter
2011 collection sports four different looks for shoppers to explore: Prim & Polished takes us back to the
'60s and '40s for post-war retro fashions, New Mod has us dressing like the boys, '70s-inspired celebrity
style for Glam Underground and Bavaria to stay warm with folk art-inspired garments this winter. Topman’s Be
Bop style from the 1950s adds a dash of rockabilly, Aztec to Navajo patterns in sleek and smart silhouettes
with bold shades of techno-colours. The daring designs and staple pieces that create the coveted
Topshop and Topman collections are a testament to their ability
to inspire the fashionista inside us all.
You no longer have to wait
for your trip to Europe or New York to relish in chic Topshop and Topman apparel – Sir Philip Green, owner of the Arcadia Group which owns
Topshop, and Bonnie Brooks, the CEO of
The Bay, have teamed up to bring
Topshop to Canada.
The franchise deal between
The Bay and Topshop begins with the first
Topshop opening in The Bay at Yorkdale
Mall (grand opening today), with the potential for 50 more shops within
The Bay and stand-alone stores to follow within the
next 5 years.
Not only do we benefit
from an addition to our shopping choices but The Bay expects to see an increase of 10 per cent in
sales for locations with Topshop and Topman offerings. The introduction of
Topshop and Topman is one more example of how Bonnie Brooks is
redefining shopping at The Bay.
