Trattoria Delights

Indulge in authentic Italian pizza without leaving the country at Toronto’s Trattoria Nervosa

Trattoria Nervosa in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood offers traditional Italian fare in a trendy and modern setting.

The eatery boasts certification by the Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani (APN), meaning they were trained to make authentic Neapolitan pizza. As per custom, the pizzas are baked in a special handmade oven for 90 seconds, resulting in a crispy crust and tender toppings. The
Primavera Pizza, perfect for veggie lovers and vegetarians, has tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, organic spinach, grilled zucchini, olives and roasted roma tomatoes. Another great option is the Pizza Contadina, which has tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese, delicious cured meats such as bresaola, sopressata and prosciutto, and Berkshire sausage, topped with basil.

Nervosa takes classic dishes and reinvents them, adding new flavours and ingredients. The restaurant’s twist on Caesar salad, the
Cesare Nervosa, has pancetta, fried capers and aged parmigiano cheese with romaine hearts and egg-free dressing. The Risotto Nervosa includes Barolo braised beef short rib, local field and porcini mushrooms and a fig balsamic reduction.

To finish off a meal order the
tiramisu, a traditional and popular Italian dessert, which consists of coffee-dipped ladyfingers layered with egg yolks and mascarpone cheese, and flavoured with cocoa and liquor. Or opt for the homemade tartufo, Italian ice cream covered in a chocolate shell, or try the gelati, Italian ice cream that’s made in-house as well.
