The Vancouver International Fringe
Festival has been offering an eclectic mix of theatrical productions to the public for 26 years, and this
year is no exception. British Columbia’s largest theatre festival, running from Sept. 8 to 18, will feature
more than 600 performances by 83 artists and is expected to attract over 30,000 theatre-goers.
The majority of the festival will take place on Granville Island in a variety of indoor and outdoor stages;
however, some artists have been known to Bring Their Own Venue, in which plays have been performed by artists
in non-conventional locations throughout the city including boats, trees, fire escapes, and even the back of
a bicycle.
During the Fringe Festival, you will have the opportunity to rate the
shows you see using ballots available at each venue. Your vote will determine the short list for the top four
shows at Pick of the Fringe running from Sept. 21 to 25.
