While we’re usually due for
some sort of awful late-March snowfall, spring has done well to show its beautiful self early this year.
And upon feeling the warm sun, seeing some pristine, green grass and hearing the birds chirp away, some of us
are united by one universal thought: Baseball.
Now, let me suggest a not-so-universal thought: Vegan baseball.
The grass isn’t the only thing that should be green.
For any of us trying to stick to animal-lovin’, eco-friendly principles, baseball can be a huge downer
because pretty much every consumer glove has leather. Even some gloves advertised as vegan are just cheap,
imported vinyl gloves made with leather laces and wool.
Thankfully, we have Carpenter Trade
Company. It
has been around since 2001 and is the exclusive maker of gloves containing only high-quality synthetics.
Their functionality is identical to that of regular gloves, but you just have to be sure not to break in
synthetic ones with liquids or heat.
And because they’re custom, you have to trace your hand on a piece of paper when you send your request for
the glove. The customization could actually work out better for you, even if you’re indifferent to
synthetics. It also means that softball gloves are available.
As a vegetarian, left-handed catcher, this place is a godsend. Yes, I’m a total weirdo, but that’s exactly
what Carpenter wants. Check them out.
